Cognitive behavioral therapy for depression.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) 4.8% of adults in the United States reported regular feelings of depression (2025). There were fifteen million visits to a doctor’s office in a year for depression. 11. 2% of emergency room visits included depression in the record. There were 49,316 deaths due to suicide or the suicide deaths per 100,000 population is 14.7. 

"Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living"(Mayo Clinic, 2025).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a treatment used to change negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The use of the cognitive triangle, a tool of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps to change negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors for positive ones (Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges, 2025).
